The 5th National Women in the Special Constabulary Conference – 18 May 2024
Following on from last year’s event, the third National Conference for Women in the Special Constabulary is being hosted by ASCO and led by Dr Ashley Frayling. This event is open to all Special Constables.
Please come and get involved while we discuss and debate the profile, experiences and visibility of women within policing and specifically highlighting those within the Special Constabulary.
This conference will be an opportunity to examine the various barriers currently facing women within policing and the Special Constabulary and the day will include some high profile female speakers, a mixture of panel talks, workshops and an international perspective of women within the Special Constabulary. There are Speakers from UK and North America discussing everything from National Gender Study to being a female reserve officer in America to female experiences in the Special Constabulary.
Please come and join us on an exciting day of informal chats, lively debate and raising the aware of the remarkable impact and careers of Women in the Special Constabulary.

Ashley Frayling, B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc, Ph.D is a lecturer in Criminology at the University of Exeter and Special Chief Officer in Devon and Cornwall Police with a wealth of experience in research and on the ground policing.
